BOR Essay

 Birth Order Research: Youngest Child
After reviewing birth order research, for the most part it describes me. Many of the findings do relate to me. I believe there is some truth to it. I also think there is no truth to the finding. So I must be neutral. Why do theses findings seem to make generalized statements about a group of people?
I’m in the youngest child category and there is truth in most of the research’s findings. One personality trait that I have is being a people person. This is true because when I’m around new people, I tend to be quiet, but then I introduce myself and start to warm-up. An example is, I was in English last year and we had to get into groups. I knew a few people but didn't associate with them all that much, then I asked four people if I could join their group and they said yes. Now this year, I’m sort of friends with them because we share interests and have classes together. Another trait that was correct was precocious, because I looked up the definition it means smart and mature. The correctness is spot on, since I've been in advanced classes since 6th grade plus I’m more mature than most people my age, like I don’t do things I shouldn't do I.e. drink or smoke.
Other traits in the findings are false. One certain trait was critical. I do not judge based on how someone looks or what I've been told. On the contrary, I’m self-critical. One example is when I receive a not so good grade I called my self dumb, and bang my head on the desk. The one trait that stood out to me was manipulative. I know many people who are a youngest child, none of them try to make me do things to hurt someone else. I've only meet one person like that
and I stopped hanging out with her because she hurt my feelings, treated me bad, and had others do her “dirty work” for her.
Now, I kind of think the is a bunch of lies. Some people might not fit any traits. Which brings up my question of  why does everything nowadays put us into categories. Just because there has been research , it doesn't always prove to be true. Sooner or later these findings will most likely be incorrect. There should not be generalized statements made about groups of people  from research.
So in conclusion, most statements are accurate, some are false, most of all research findings aren't always true. There was many accurate statements in the research. Then there were others exact opposite of me. The research also made me think, why does there have to be generalized statements about groups of people that might cause a pre-judgment of someone. I feel labels are trying to be put on everyone and everything to day which is not a good situation at all.

Birth Order Traits

People-person
Most of the time,I’m a people-person. I get along with people quite well if they treat me nicely as I do them.
Affectionate
I am very affectionate. Any time i see a family member the first thing I do is hug them and ask how they've been.
Temperamental
I don’t believe I’m temperamental. I mean the only way I get mad is if you make me mad, my moods don’t change quickly.
Job- show business
I will not get a job in show biz. I don’t like being center of attention all the time and it is too much pressure. my dream job is to be a pyrotechnic.
Carefree
If i am not focused on school I’m carefree. Usually this happens when i have nothing to do nor worry about.
Uncomplicated
This is not true.I’m pretty complicated, I like things a certain way if you do it wrong I'll get irritated and do it myself

My six words

It took me a while to get this quote because i was running with a few different one but ultimately i chose this one. These six word represent my life, because if i had a bad day and go outside and just sit. My dogs will come to to me and just jump all over me and act goofy making me laugh. My dog's just know how to make me happy. My dogs are a big part of my life if i cant live with out them they are not just pets to me. My dogs are family forever.
